How do I steer?

On a computer: A and D or the arrow keys steer, Space drops in off a crest, E or Shift uses what you picked up, Esc or P pauses. On a phone, turn it sideways: your boat paddles by itself, slide a thumb on the left half to steer and tap the buttons on the right.

What is the surge?

A big rolling wave that comes down the river. When it reaches you, it lifts your boat and carries it. Keep to the bright sweet spot on its crest to ride it longer, and press Drop to slide off the front with a burst of speed.

What are the baskets in the water?

Picnic baskets washed into the river, each with its item sticking out of the lid, so you always know what you’re grabbing. Paddle through one to take the item, then press Use. Hints above the button tell you when it works best.

Where is my progress?

Your hero and progress are saved in this browser on this device. Clearing the site’s data removes them, and another browser starts fresh.

Where are the other races?

Kettlecrest is in early access: Meltwater Mile, the first run of Glacier Gate, is open now. The rest of the Long River, from Pinewood Rapids to the Sea Bell, is on its way.
